Lottie Da Gift Guide- Part 1

December 3, 2009

“All handmade all the time! Gifts from the heart (instead of the assembly line) mean so much more!”

Hello holiday shoppers!  Looking for handmade holiday gifts?   Stop in Lottie Da on your way to Winterfair this weekend.   While our square footage may be a lot smaller,  we too carry a wonderful assortment of handmade gifts, toys, apparel and even furniture.   Many items are custom made & can be personalized for that extra special gift.   Here are a few of my favorite items available  in the store.    Custom orders need to be in by 12/11 to ensure delivery by Christmas.

A  personalized baby blanket is a thoughtful gift, perfect for any new parent.   This blanket is both practical &  luxurious.  It measures  32″X36″ which is larger than the average baby blanket so that it can be used throughout the toddler stage as well.  It is double sided with designer cotton and cozy minky fabrics, then edged with silky soft satin.  Choose your own print and personalize with embroidery.  This is a gift that will be cherished forever  and never thrown into the garage sale pile!

These play tables were one of the first things I designed for the store and I enjoyed collaborating with local artisans to make the designs come to life.   I’m afraid these pics really don’t do them justice!   The tables are dark cherry wood and have mid century modern style legs.   They were hand drawn and painted using non toxic paints and finished with a coat of  non toxic, water-based polyurethane varnish.  The tables are placed low to the ground making them easily accessible to small children.  They come with 2 cozy floor cushions with removable covers for convenient washing.  These 2 designs are available now.   As with many things in the store, these tables can be customized to your specific colors & theme.    We can create a unique design for you based on your existing decor and choose coordinating fabrics for the pillows to match.

How about a handmade growth chart?  This simple design can be rolled up and easily stored so you will always have it as a keepsake.  It is made from hand cut appliques , sewn onto cotton canvas and is finished with 2 dowel rods and a ribbon for hanging.   Each one is unique and made from different cotton prints and felt fabrics.  I can customize to your specific color theme and personalize with your child’s name.   The bird design is available now and I have  a couple other designs in the works that will be available soon.

Along with their imagination, develop your child’s crafting skills early on with this adorable 3 pc wooden toy sewing set.  These scissors actually move! (but don’t cut of course)  Sets are available in pink, green, yellow and orange and they come packaged in a drawstring storage bag made out of  coordinating  Amy Butler quilting fabric!

Every home needs a wooden family for imaginary play!  This is a complete family set of daddy, mommy, sister, brother and baby. (Daddy stands 6″ tall)  It is made from salvaged wood, hand cut and sanded smooth.  Sorry no pets are available with the set but you could have your own zoo to go with it…….

I just love natural wood toys!  So does my 2 year old and yours will too!  These animal play sets come in 4 different animal themes:  Zoo, Wilderness, Farm, & Sea Life .  Each set has 8 different pieces made out of a mix of different kinds of wood.

This is the dress of my dreams!  A  unique dress from Lottie Da makes a perfect gift for the stylish little girl in your life.  This one can be worn this winter layered or with a sweet cardigan and then brought back out for Spring.    There are many other wonderful handmade choices available in the store or by custom order.

Not many of these little hand-knit cuties are left but more are on the way.   Each sweater has a  handmade  fabric covered button closure and the back of the sweater is even more amazing than the front.  These make a great heirloom gift.   Also check out our assortment of  knit hats and jumpers that are equally as beautiful.

And we don’t forget about the boys at Lottie Da.   This hand knit pilot cap just came in this week and is sure to sell out fast.  It has an adorable vintage vibe and comes in green/brown and brown/rust.   Perfect winter photo op!

First of all….I am Sara Neal’s mom, we met this summer…
LOVE everything! I have a friend leaving for Uganda tomorrow to bring home her newly adopted 18 month old boy, Samuel. I wanted to give her a special gift. Any suggetions? I was thinking in the 40-50 dollar range. I know their nursery is done in Notre Dame colors…navy, taupe. gold.
Can’t wait to visit your shop again…..we are in the process of getting our first grandchild….also from Uganda! Sara and I have already discussed that this would definitely warrant a trip to Columbus!!
    Thank you for any suggetions…..Brenda
